Dear Family Members:

To all and sundry, near and far, no matter where the heck you are: Happy Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for have we not? The usual home, family, pets, warmth, food, security.
Peace (for us at any rate) and freedom from want.

{mvn: I'm glad you're feeling better.} Jack the Cat is trying to get at the turkey thawing in the sink, Vern is reading National Geo, I am cooking up the usual excessive feast and wondering why on earth I'm doing it.

I learned a new phrase this week: "Eschew Sunk Costs." It has become my byword and is posted on the fridge.

Love to you all (and you know who you are) from Virginia
